bullet - proof self confidence, come get some!!!!!!!

It was a warm summer evening as I strolled out of the gym on my way to a meeting with a potential business partner for my network marketing opportunity. I had just banged out an intensive leg and a 20 minute high interval cardio workout. The last 2 minutes on the cardio machine had me running my heart out at a speed of 7.5 miles/hour smiling as my body’s engine dug deep down to get every ounce of fat I had, to supply me with energy. Meanwhile, I was smiling and struggling at the same time, chanting “go mario, go mario, go mario,go mario,go mario,go mario,go mario, yeaaaaaaah”. I almost died on that treadmill.

By the time I got to my meeting I was feeling real good about myself, I am a winner, I had accomplished something. Jeremy, my prospect, had also just arrived at the coffee house. I got myself a flavored hot milk and got him a dragon well looseleaf green tea. We then settled out on the patio for an exploratory conversation. As the evening sun fell on my forehead I put on my shades and proceeded to make a connection with Jeremy. We talked about a variety of topics ranging from his upbringing to his values, dreams, ambitions and beliefs.

Jeremy was a very interesting character with so many Godgiven talents you would think he was God’s favourite - tall, handsome, physically fit, outgoing, strong values, work ethic, ambitious, self proclaimed learner and charismatic. Jeremy just exuded self confidence. I was really excited at the opportunity to have him as a business partner. As we spoke, our conversation proceeded very smoothly with no anxiety as I delved deep into his world asking him questions and carefully, deeply listening to understand him and get to know him better. I was so confident, calm and collected as I told him that I had a very high interest in working with him. I then proceeded to explain my business concept to him with metaphors, graphic illustrations and well honed communication flair.

At some point in the meeting Jeremy said, “Mario, I can see myself working with you, I like the way you carry yourself and communicate your business. You are a great listener and seek to connect and understand my feelings. You don’t come across as pushy.” I thought to myself “isn’t that interesting!”. There is so much meaning to those words that Jeremy mentioned on that evening.

As I drove home from that meeting it hit me like a thunderbolt that I had been preparing for 3 years for that meeting and consequent meetings where I would floor people with my refineness of culture, well honed communication skills, social and emotional intelligence and empathetic listening. I had finally arrived and it felt so good. My self confidence was soaring at a level that I have never experienced before - the kind of confidence that only comes when one believes in themselves and their principles so much so that they are willing to die by them.

So the million dollar question is “how did I do it and how can you get some?”. If you are willing to work hard on yourself you too can have bullet - proof, unshakeable, unfaltering self confidence.  These are the aspects of my life that I have focussed on over the past 3 years that have enabled me to build a strong belief in myself and the value I bring to the table:

1. Intra - personal skills i.e. my emotional intelligence. The ability to communicate with myself and control the thing between my ears to aid me towards growth rather than regress. The use of my emotions to spur me forward rather than hold me back from success. I developed my intrapersonal skills by engaging in a wide variety of activities including intensive personal development reading, receiving personal development coaching, spending hours on end in solitude getting to know myself and programming my mind with thoughts of success, prosperity and confidence by using visions, dreams and self proclamations.

2. Interpersonal communication i.e social intelligence. My ability to confidently get along with a wide variety of individuals from all walks of life. This one has been by far the hardest skill to acquire. I read on it, took courses on it like Dale Carnegie human relations, continuously challenged myself to talk to as many people as I possibly could, watch people to understand how non - verbal communication is important in understanding emotions and practiced empathetic listening. This has been by far the greatest challenge - the ability to communicate with others from their perspective.

3. Confidence building actions. I enrolled in public speaking program at toastmasters, competed in speaking competitions, joined networking groups to stretch my comfort zone in meeting new people, took on leadership roles to develop my confidence with leading people and engaged in a rigorous fitness program to develop the physique of my dreams.

4. I am gung - ho for mantras, mottos, proclamations, chants. You can catch me hitting the world with them on social media everyday. You see am a natural born inspirator/motivator and I can’t help it. I love to motivate myself with mantras because they have an interesting way of fulfilling themselves as I go about my day. They seem to automatically guide me towards that which I most aspire to be. You can usually find posts like these on my twitter

As you can tell, it has all been work. The relentless, persistent, ambitious pursuit for excellence. It has been a journey that has blessed me with an everlasting happiness and exponentially growing self belief and confidence. I worked on the inside to become a confident person on the outside and you can too. Only if you want it bad enough.

network marketing: an invitation to annihilate your inner demons

 She sent me a message and it read, “I wish you great success with people who will work well in the network marketing structure. I will never venture into that type of business again so please let’s end this question. I find it to be a horrible experience - truly without a doubt it does not fit into my mind. I am happy doing what I’m doing.” I thought to myself, “isn’t that interesting?Is she truly happy doing what she is doing? why the choice of extreme words like ‘horrible’ and ‘never’? what is she hiding from? what does she not want to face? “. The question that I have been pondering for a long time is, “is it the network marketing model that does not work or is it the people that don’t work?”

It has been my observation that, except for the people who are extremely passionate about what they are already doing, the people who reject network marketing are not rejecting the business in and of itself, they are rejecting an invitation to go to places that will require them to go past their comfort zones by putting themselves out there to face rejection.

Your inability to face rejection is a wonderful mirror to yourself in essense telling you that you are not comfortable with who you are. Network marketing requires you to work on yourself day in and day out to develop yourself to be a more valuable human being. You will face a myriad of challenging situations when prospecting new people, you will be required to make a lot of friends, you will be required to lead a team, you will be required to develop your interpersonal abilities as well as communication skills to the point that you are naturally comfortable around anybody, you will meet your infamous inner foe - fear at every turn of the road, your confidence will be severely challenged, your will and resolve will be put to the test, you will be ridiculed by the masses and you will be forced to journey deep inward to discover all the inner demons that have been keeping you from living a life of happiness, health and prosperity. In the end you will most likely lose, yes you will most likely lose UNLESS you are built with indomitable courage to overcome all the inner obstacles that stand between you and heaven on earth.

Saying no to network marketing is saying no to the unfoldment of your maximum inner potential. Network marketing is a 40 year life education compressed to 5 years.

So next time you are having doubts about your network marketing business or saying no to looking at the opportunity ask yourself “what am I running away from? what am I hiding from? why am I scared?” The answer will inevitably be, you are running away from yourself. Look in the mirror and decide today that you will come out of your inner shell, take charge of your future and create a life of abundance through the honorable revolutionary business model of network marketing also known as multi - level marketing.

To be successful in network marketing you must know, understand and internalize exactly what it is and how it works. Missing this fundamental point will have you running around in circles chasing the all so ubiquitous MLM dream.

Fellow networkers, read, recite, proclaim the following definition as often as you can to really understand what role you should play in building an MLM dynasty. The 1st rule of engagement in any endeavor is to know your business.

Network marketing is the distribution of products and services through a network of independent representatives. Each representative is responsible to consume and sell a small amount and then recruit others to do the same.  Sales volume is generated through a lot of people each buying and selling a small amount of product. Commissions are paid based on training new distributors and the consumption of products and services in the network. A company offering a product or service can eliminate the need for expensive advertising campaigns by deploying a network of individuals who get paid for sharing products and services they love with others through word of mouth. An individual seeking an income opportunity can generate an unlimited stream of commissions through repeat business and sales within his/her growing organization.

If your day to day activities  as an independent business owner do not revolve around the 2 activities of promoting your products and seeking to recruit business partners then you are busy doing “busy work” instead of “making it rain money” producing work.

Why your character is questionable and how to make it 100

WHY ARE YOU SO UNATTRACTIVE? WHY DON’T PEOPLE CLING TO YOU? WHY DON’T YOUR PROSPECTS BUY FROM YOU?

Because your communication signals that you are self absorbed. Because you only think of yourself when you are communicating. Because you are too busy pushing your ideas, products, theories and stories on others instead of listening and responding.

I was on a flight from the west coast and I was seated between two people from the movie industry. On my left was a movie producer enroute to make a film. I can’t remember his name, he was not too exciting. On my right was April, a beautiful, ultra personable actress who coincidentally too was on her way to make another movie. It would be an understatement if I told you that I was in a network marketers paradise dream. You see I have always wanted to market my products in the movie industry because my company manufactures a skin care line that actresses would just love. Obviously, tapping into such a market can open up a fountain of opportunity if one develops and cultivates the right relationships with key influencers who are positioned to promote you and your business.

So the key question is, what must you do if you want to attract an influencer to you? What is the one and only thing you can do to successfully build rapport so strongly that she will want to seek you out in the future or stay in touch with you? What can you do to create a memorable experience for her that will open 250 doors for you and your business?

ANSWER: You communicate like a pro. Period.

I instinctively knew that this was a once in a lifetime situation and I had to make a most powerful 1st impression if I wanted to bring April into my network of friends and infiltrate the movie industry with my products. The challenge was that I only had 45 minutes to do this. Everything inside of me was screaming “sell her on your products mario sell her on your products”. But I have been around that block so so so many times. Every time I have tried to sell my prospects they seem to have lost interest. So I did something unorthodox, despite the time constraint. I did not sell my product. I repeat, I did not sell my prospect on why my product is the greatest and she would be a retard if she doesn’t buy.

POWERFUL STUFF RIGHT HERE, PAY ATTENTION

I sold her on herself. I sold her on why she is unique, special and one of a kind. How did I do this? I spoke to her about the most important person in the whole world, herself. April told me all about her movie nomination awards from the day before. She showed me pictures of her receiving the trophy, pictures of her beautiful dress at the awards and pictures of all the different looks she had. She was beaming with pride as she recounted the experience. I made her feel good about herself and her accomplishments. She told me all about her career, her daughter, her husband, getting back from shanghai 36 hours prior and on and on and on…….. And I listened with genuine interest, asking questions and trying to understand her mindset and what she was all about.

Let me ask you an interesting question, “When do you think was the last time someone showed a genuine interest in April?” I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that even her husband fails to pay her the attention she deserves. We humans have a huge yearning to be heard, respected and loved.When someone fulfils these desires for us, we automatically feel attraction toward that person. Attraction is not logical, it is emotional.

I then asked her quite simply on her advice on the best way to position my products in the movie industry and she went on another speech giving lots of advice. I then asked, matter of factly, if she would try my products. And she said yes + she said she will promote it to all her actress friends.

April then said, ” mario, I never ever, ever, ever, ever speak to anyone on the plane. I put on my earphones quickly and shut the world off. But you are personable…….” And I said” thank you April, thats a compliment”.

She then gave me her contact information, she wants me to mail her samples of my product to see if they will live up to my slick promo. I have no doubt we have the best skin care line in the whole wide world, so the product will sell itself. I will also have the opportunity  to continue our relationship building and uncover new opportunities.

The above story has loads of insight on how to communicate like a pro and become an attraction magnet. Go back and analyze the conversations you have been engaged in. Are you forgetting about yourself and showing a genuine interest for people or are you busy trying to push your agenda on them?

Learn on how to communicate to others about what is most important to them and you will be the most attractive person around the block. This will help you build stronger relationships, create new friendships, uncover hidden opportunities and make a lot of money in your primary business. Human relationships are key to creating a life of prosperity, health and happiness. Resolve that you will master the art of communicating like a pro.

Zig ziglar once said  “People don’t care what you know until you show them how much you care”.

Stop been selfish, be genuine, authentic and have a sincere interest for your fellow man. You will be rewarded in ways that you can’t even imagine.

ANNIHILATE FEAR OUT OF YOUR NETWORK MARKETING PSYCHE

What would you accomplish in your life if you had no fear whatsoever holding you back?How would your life look? What would you be doing every day? With whom would you spend your time? How would you spend your time? What would you have? and most importantly, who would you be?

The gym was particularly empty. There was a row of about 20 treadmills with only 3 people widely spaced from each other occupying them. I could have easily gone to one of the isolated treadmills but I saw Suzanne, the gym yoga instructor, walking on one of the treadmills. I have never talked to her but my instinct told me to go walk next to her. We struck up a conversation about yoga and this led to a conversation about her daytime gig. Suzanne had just gotten her Education degree and was looking to become a grade 1 - 5 teacher. Only problem was, there had been an ongoing teachers strike so presently she had been confined to casual work and yoga teaching. She then turned the conversation to me and asked about my career and I told her that I am a businessman in the nutrition industry. 

KEY QUESTION: “Fellow Networker, If you were in my shoes what would you have done?” “Would you have geared the conversation toward making an invite for your business opportunity or would you let this opportunity pass you by, like so many others in the past?”.

CORRECT ANSWER: ” Mario, I would have audaciously made an invite to Suzanne to view my business opportunity”.

After our 10 minute conversation I bid her farewell and proceeded to go hit the weights. Thats when the thought hit me like a ton of bricks, ” Gosh I just had a clear opening to make an invite but for some reason I didn’t”. I had once again been struck with the most dreaded disease of humanity, fear a.k.a chicken wuss syndrome.

While working out I kept looking up to see if Suzanne was still on the treadmill and pondering whether I should go back or not. After 15 minutes of mental anguish, I realized that I couldn’t concentrate on my workout unless I did something about this. So I ran to the changing room to get my business cards and voila! they were not there. I figured they must be in my car, so I ran out to my car and got my card box out and rushed back into the gym.

I then proceeded to go to the cardio section only to find that, “Oh my God she is gone. Damn I missed out again, I need to learn to act IMMEDIATELY”. You know that feeling of self disappointment that you have when you realize that you let an opportunity slip by your hands because you were such a scaredy cat. That feeling that speaks to you loud in your mind “you chicken, you sucker, you good for nothing wuss”. That feeling lowers my self esteem because I am not living up to my promises to fulfill my destiny regardless of all obstacles. 

I remembered that she said that she was going to teach yoga at 8pm - 9.30pm. I was done my workout by 8.30pm and my  doubting mind said ” no problem mario you will see her next time”. But as we all know, next time never comes and when it does a new excuse will come up. I knew deep deep deep down that if I did not approach Suzanne on that evening that I was as good as dead as far as network marketing was concerned. A voice in my head said” mario, If you don’t wait for Suzanne and overcome your fears today, you might as well pack up your bags cause this game ain’t for you”.

Fellow networker, “What would you have done if you were in my shoes? would you have waited for Suzanne to finish her yoga class or would you have rushed home to regret and a strawberry milkshake?”.

I resolved to sit down and wait until the yoga class was done. That one hour wait was the most excruciating one hour of the day. All sorts of limiting thoughts came up and excuses as to why I should go home were rampant. But still, I sat there. I knew that this had nothing to do with Suzanne any more, this was really all about me fighting to overcome that doubtful side of me that catches me slipping when I am not ready. It didnt matter any more whether I got rejected, I had resolved to place myself in the line of fire. I will not run anymore, I will face my fears head on. I will not give up on myself.

KEY QUESTION: ” Will you give up on yourself or will you once again summon all your courage and act to chase and fulfill your visions and dreams?”

CORRECT ANSWER:” I will charge ahead no matter how scared I am. Success is my birth right.”

9.30pm came and a group of people started walking out of the class. I kept peeping in to see if the class was empty. Finally all the students had left and I ‘courageously’ stumbled into the class and said ” Suzanne, there is something on my mind and my body won’t let me walk out of the gym until I share it with you. Remember how you mentioned that you are looking for a job? ……………Have you ever thought of working for yourself?” I waited for the reply. It came quicker than a speeding bullet. Suzanne said ” no thank you, I have owned my own business before and I am not interested in going that way?” And that was it. The strangest thing happened after she said no, I was still ALIIIVE, my heart was still beating, I was still standing. Wooooow. All this mental anguish for nada.

I told her bye and walked to my car with the proclamation “I did it, I did it”. That is the day I gained my power. It didn’t matter that Suzanne rejected the offer. It mattered to me that I had conquered my inner dummy. If I can do it once can I do it twice? you darn right. Can I do it 100 times? you darn right. Can I do it 1000 times? you darn right because that is what it will take to build an international network marketing dynasty.

So much has been said about how to conquer any fear; the most ubiquitous phrase being “do the thing you fear most and the death of fear is certain”. My experience has shown me time and time again that the only way to overcome fear is by actually facing it head on. And doing this repeatedly until it becomes second nature.

So next time you feel fear my advice is to acknowledge it, say  to yourself ” yes, I am scared but I will talk to this person regardless of my fear”. You can do it, believe in yourself again, YOU CAN DO IT. Take small steps. 1st, just smile and look directly into people’s eyes that you meet. Say hi to people as you go about your day. Graduate to making small conversations about generalities. Elevate to deeper conversations. Do this often until you get comfortable.

You are the only barrier to your success as a network marketer. Embrace the fear and use it to propel you onward. No success comes without challenge. And the greatest challenge of all is the self doubt within you. Will you step up to the challenge or will you let your inner dummy hold you back? I think you are born to win so your answer is a resolute, “I WILL STEP UP”.

YOUR No.2 ASSET IN BUSINESS: CHARACTER

THE BLACKPRINT: AN UNCENSORED TRUE STEP BY STEP PLAN TO GROW YOUR NETWORK MARKETING BUSINESS IN JUNE

I remember Dec 28, 2010 just like it was yesterday. It was my birthday yet on this day I was particularly melancholic and very disappointed at myself. Another year had gone by and I had failed to accomplish the goals that I had set for myself in my network marketing business. I derive a great source of my happiness from smashing goals and records that I set for myself. It’s the competitor in me type AAA personality. What was strange about my failure was the fact that I had spent a lot of time on my business and worked very very hard at it. Looking at my schedule for the year 2010 you would be as amazed as I was with the lack of stellar performance. You see my schedule was full of networking functions, Chamber of commerce mixers, meeting after meeting with “prospective” clients and personal/professional reading and development.

After my anger at my performance subsided, I engaged in the one and only activity that could help me solve my problem, thinking. If you want to build a successful business the one skill you will have to learn to acquire is reflecting, meditating and thinking about your life, business, relationships and problems you are encountering in all these departments. Until you can take an objective look at yourself you can’t grow your business. I meditated on the outcome of the year for days on end. Was it my poor skills that prevented me from doing well? Was it my upline who didn’t give me the support I needed? Was it the company products that are too expensive? Was it my poor leadership abilities? Believe me, I thought about it all. Now the above may have played a significant part in my poor performance, but everywhere I turned there was always one mistake that kept cropping up. This one mistake explained all the failure I had had up until then. It was…….

I HAD FAILED TO PLAN WHERE I WANTED MY BUSINESS TO GROW AND THE DAILY OPERATING PROCEDURES I WOULD EMPLOY TO STAY ON TRACK.

I believe this, along with lack of execution, is the number 1 reason 97% of network marketers are failing in the business. And when I say plan, I mean a true plan that is proven to work, that doesn’t alienate your prospects and that makes you actually proud of what you do.

I am just coming back from a 30 day network marketing break during which I really took time to look at my business from an outside perspective and really thought about how I could come back in the month of June and totally just crush it. Here I will share with you my exact strategy for growing my business in the month of June. Ofcourse, you may have different products adjust the product to suit your business. It took me two hours to set up this plan today. Grab a cup of Joe and think of how you can set up your own strategy after digesting the principles here. It is the philosophy behind it that you are interested in.

The growth of any business always begins with the product. On a piece of paper I wrote down the primary product lines of my company and went through the benefits they confer to the end consumer. Everything begins here. I understand that I have to get this products to as many people’s hands as possible. There is only two ways to go about this:

1. Get new customers

2. Get new business partners who use and promote the products to new customers

Now your job is to work with your frontline distributors to duplicate the 1st two steps again with a new set of business partners.

Word for word from my scrap book, this is what I came up with:

GOALS FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE

1. Get 7 new customers as monthly repeat consumers of my company’s primary product

2. Get 7 new business partners

3. Train the 7 new partners to bring in 7 new customers in their 1st month

This is the foundation, you and your front line. You have to teach your front line members to drive volume up by developing  a customer base

My plan to accomplish the above is divided into 2, plan A and plan B

Please note the the plan has been designed to revolve around my lifestyle. Look at your lifestyle and you can come up with something similar just by replacing an activity that I do with one that you usually do.

Plan A: Get new Customers

1. Diligently service my pre-existing customer base and ask for referrals from those satisfied with the product and my service. Your customer base are your champions treat them well and they will get your name to places you can only imagine. This is so important that I will emphasize that you should have a system that helps you stay in touch with your customers.

2. Promote my product in a leads based networking group. This is by far the easiest way to acquire new customers. A group of people helping each other. I am going to really work this one diligently.

3. Gym relationships which lead to conversations which MAY lead to product sales if I determine that my product can help them. This is a great way to keep your prospecting funnel full of potential new prospects. I will greet as many people as time permits and be very friendly when I am out there. People will be attracted to me because of my positive attitude and I will create new opportunities for my business.

4. Workplace wellness programs is great to target a bigger number of potential cutomer prospects. Does your product have the benefit of improving workplace productivity if the employees use it? if it does contact the human resources department of that company and tell them” I think I can help your company for example reduce employee abseenteism, would you like to know how?” Then ask for appointment if they say yes.

5. I will cold call real estate Agents in Vancouver to introduce them to my product if they have a need. Typically, the demands of a real estate agent lifestyle requires them to stay real healthy if they would like to sell more houses. My products can keep them healthy. What can your products do for professionals in a specific industry?

6. I will get involved with the members of a high end private club through sporting activities like racquetball. My product is on the higher scale of the pricing structure so typical only people with a disposable income can afford it. What is your target market? find out who they are and get involved in an activity that keeps you close to them. It doesn’t have to be a private club especially if you are on a budget but it could be a running club, a book club or wherever they are. Go look for them

7. Promote my health products to recreational facilities of private clubs whose members are typically health conscious and don’t mind paying extra for high quality products.

Plan B: Getting Business Partners

1. Join networking organizations that get me close to people, build relationships, gain trust, likeability and AT THE RIGHT TIME AND PLACE make an approach with those I deem will make good partners and who I would like to work with.

2. Public invites. This may happen in two ways

a. I always stay at the same hotels when I am traveling so I get to know the staff very well from valet attendants to waiters to managers etc. This creates an opening for me because they know me. It could be you dine at the same place often, or go to the same bookstore often. When you encounter someone you always see at your frequent haunts take a longer term approach to get to know them through different visits. See them in different moods and get to understand them then if they fit your criteria for the vision you have for your team members, invite them.

b. This one is the one I hated the most but I have learned to love it. You meet someone and you know you will never see them again. Maybe a gas attendant while you are driving in another city or waitress in a restaurant that you never frequent. Here if they fit my criteria I will invite right away, after small rapport building phase. I use my no. 1 weapon here when time is limited. I smile from ear to ear, compliment and talk about em.

3. I will cold call public speakers, yoga instructors and personal trainers because I like been around these sorts of people. Who do you like been around? pick up the phone and tell them you are looking to grow your business in the area and ask them” do you have any interest in diversifying your income?” thats my favourite question, whats yours? Try several and find one that fits you well.

4. Purchase leads. It’s great to practice and will keep me with continuous stream of prospects.

5. Advertise in a job seeker publication. I get consistent calls from the one I am presently using and I know that a few heavy hitters will come from this source soon.

6. Relationship building at the gym and yoga will give me openings I need. Like I said I love been around these kinds of people so it is easy for us to bond real quick. What activity are you particularly fond of? your prospects are involved in that activity too. You have a common foundation from which a friendship can be established. Get involved, makesome friends.

7. Go through my old contacts that I had prospected in the past, find the ones I particularly liked and call them again. One more time…….

Now I take these plans and I put them in my Apple Imac schedule. This 1st week I have blocked of monday to saturday 3 - 5pm to call on my prospects, service my customers and follow up on presentations given.

After, 30 days off I want to start off slow so this week my hours total 2hrs * 6 days = 12hours building my business. How many hours will you block aside to build you future?

WHERE IS THE MONEY? WHY YOU ARE DEAD BROKE AND HOW TO GET FILTHY RICH

It was quite a sight to see. Outside the yoga studio was a line up as long as the Obama, ” we just caught Bin Laden”, speech. This struck me because it was 5 pm Sunday May 22nd, Canada’s public holiday (Victoria Day ) long weekend. As I stood there in front of the line up I thought to myself, “don’t these people have something better to do on a holiday weekend?”. “Heck, don’t I have something better to do on a long weekend?”. Obviously, this was the best way for us to spend our holiday weekend. That is why we stood in line, with our tight pants and rolled up yoga mats, after having coughed up $15, all sooooo excited about spending 90 minutes opening up our hips and hams. The studio was jam packed, it felt like the opening night of a new night club. We are true loyal patrons of the establishment. They are making money because they have won our business.

It was quite a sight to see. Monday May 23rd 8 pm found me at a different yoga studio. There must be something seriously wrong with this studio, I still haven’t figured it out yet. Talk about a dead scene, this spot was not happening at all. You see, as the class begun I counted 6 of us in the room and I thought to myself” isn’t that interesting, where is everybody?”. Woooow!!! What I have noticed over several visits to this studio is that there is, on a good day, about 10 people in the room at any given class. Apparently, this yoga studio does not have loyal patrons visiting the establishment continuously. They are not making money because they haven’t won a whole lot of people’s business.

It doesn’t take a fortune teller to reach the conclusion that the former yoga studio will be in business for a very long time. Actually, I can see them expanding to a new location in town to reach a wider customer base. It doesn’t take a fortune teller to predict the fate of the latter yoga studio. You know the story  “local business closes down after one year in business”.

Where is the money in Network Marketing? Let’s see. Mario gets a distributorship license and quickly goes to work learning the skills it takes to get a customer for his business. It is quite a struggle. Coming from an engineering background Mario is not well equipped with the skills of prospecting, developing rapport, building relationships, determining needs and wants and communicating. With diligent learning and practice he soon gets one customer, then another, then another. Today, every 2 weeks, Mario goes to his neighbourhood post office and there ALWAYS is a cheque waiting for him  because he has developed a continuous stream of income from customers ordering his wonderful products month in, month out.

On the flip side, Maria, a personal trainer, gets a distributorship and never gets to promote her products to her network and database of 400 present and past clients. She refuses or can’t get herself to take the steps to learn how to develop rapport, build relationships, sell, promote, and create value with the “ohhh so amazing” products at her disposal. Very soon the cost of running her Network Marketing business far exceeds the money she is generating (or let’s say not generating). Maria, never gets around to getting a single customer and within 3 months she drops out of her Network Marketing business.

The key to success in any business, not just an MLM business, is volume generated through the distribution of goods and services to an end consumer. You don’t sell, you don’t eat. You sell a little, you eat a little. You sell a lot, you eat a lot. This is theeee basic foundation that you must always have right, left and center. Always you should be like a vulture thinking, ” where do I get some more food? Oh down there by the kids picnic table, woooosh let’s go”. Yes, I will use strong metaphors to get you to think. Because, up until now you have not been thinking and growing rich. Furthermore, you have been pestering everyone you meet with your ” get rich quick pyramid scheme”.  Atleast thats’ what it sounds like; you get 2 who get 4, who get 16, who get 64, uknowhatamsayin.

In MLM, my experience has shown me that it is almost impossible to control what your distributors do on a day to day basis. You can motivate, inspire, train and micro - manage them, but at the end of the day they have to take action. The solution to creating a residual income is for you to make the necessary moves to develop a strong customer base that is independent of your downline.  This is not a question of ” Do I concentrate on recruiting or do I concentrate on getting customers?” Concentrate on both, however your focus every single day should be to always think of new ways to promote your product to drive more volume in your organization and train you recruits to learn how to have a product acquisition culture along with their efforts to recruit new distributors.

If you neglect to get customers using your products day in and out and also fail to train your distributors to do the same you are missing out on a huge residual income potential. Say for example you develop a customer base that gives you an income of $300 per month. Say you teach your 4 distributors to each develop a customer base that earns them $300 a month each. Your 4 distributors total income will be $1200/ month. Using a 10% commission rate earns you an additional $120 from the customers of your downline. So now you are earning $420 every month from your organization customer base. And that is just on your 1st level of distributors. Multiplying this effect many levels down within your organizational pyramid structure will show you how you can build a solid business by creating a product distribution culture with your organization.

Take action NOW: Bring 4 new customers that use your product into your business for the month of June. Help your frontline distributors bring in 4 new customers for the month of June. The money is in the customer base.

Now you are on the true path to creating a residual income.

BUILD AN MLM DYNASTY IN 6 WEEKS AND REST ON THE 7TH: STEP UP TO THE ALPHA CHALLENGE AND PROPEL YOUR BUSINESS TO THE MOON

Today’s blog is for those who want to make Randy Gage, Tim Sales, Nathan Ricks drink out of a coconut MLM money. Not for those who want to “shaaaaaaare the products”.  I don’t know where today’s message is finding you, maybe you have put in all your effort and are on the verge of quitting; my message to you is try again. Maybe you have hit a plateau on your business, my message to you is let’s do it again. Maybe you are just starting out, my message to you is the sky is no limit. Maybe you are at the pinnacle of success, my message to you is that its time to move to significance. For today, I call on the entire network marketing world to take me up on the Alpha challenge to, proverbially speaking, ” crush your MLM business” and make some very very serious momentum to generate very very serious money. Let’s together challenge ourselves to show up and play the game at a level we have never played before. Coast to coast in the Americas, South Americas, Europe, Asia. Middle and Far East and not to forget Africa, one more time, let’s do it.

For the past 21 days I have been on a total mental and physical vacation; I needed to step back from life to see my business and everything that I am doing from a macro level. My period of rest is coming to an end and I will be getting back to the money on the 1st of June. I thought to myself ” mario, how do you wanna come out the network marketing running gates on June 1st?” The answer” blasting”. So I designed a program which will literally crush all misperceptions of what it takes to build the business. I would challenge you to make the same decision and challenge your downline to make the same decision.

This message is for the freshmen as well as the vet. I don’t care what you think about yourself but from where I am sitting I believe that you can do anything you place your mind on. Let’s feel the fear and do it any way.

Who am I? My goal is to touch all of you with a message of inspiration and hope in a day and age when dreaming for greatness has been considered a taboo. Yes you can have it alll. SUCCESS IS EVERYTHING.

So here we go. From June 1 to July 20th here are 7 strategies I will employ to turbocharge my business. This is a dedicated ultra committed insane mlm workout plan where you will overwork yourself for 6 weeks straight( forget about balance for once folks) and rest on the 7th. Without further ado here they are:

1. ACTIVE NETWORKING

The fundamental foundation by which any business is based is that there is a product/ service which someone needs and wants and by getting this product to the consumer you get compensated for it. Network marketing is the only business that has this backwards; recruit recruit recruit. My experience has shown me otherwise. You see every 2 weeks I receive a cheque that is entirely independent of my downline performance. This cheque comes from purely the volume generated by my personal customers. so even if all the members of my downline dropped out tommorrow I will always receive that cheque. I call that true stability and residual income. Hence a major cornerstone of building yourself a solid business is having a strong customer base first and foremost. So yes let’s get this clear, MLM is both a Sales and Teaching business. Sorry Randy Gage I respect you to the zenith; however, your message that MLM is solely a teaching business may be misinterpreted to mean that there is no sales involved. Folks you have to market, promote and sell your products for that all elusive network marketing dream - residual financial security.

What is the most effective way to get customers without going the traditional ways of door to door or all day trade shows? (personally i have found these methods both mentally and physically draining and the one thing you will need is abundant energy and vitality for the next 6 weeks) I believe the best way hands down to get customers is to join a leads based networking group. These groups are created for the sole purpose of helping their members grow their businesses. On a week to week basis you will meet with a group of professionals, share with them what kind of business you are looking for, share referrals and promote each other. This allows a good number of people to get to know you, like you and trust you. Plus they will have an intimate knowledge of your products. They will become ambassadors for you and your products helping you grow your customer base. An example of such an organization is ” Business Network International”; check the internet for different leads groups available in your locale.

2. PASSIVE NETWORKING

Passive networking is where you will meet people on a daily basis wherever you spend considerable amounts of time. However, your focus here will not be to vomit on them about your patented, out of this world, celebrity endorsed, athlete approved product line or your ‘unbeeeelievable’ compensation (get you a BMW, take a vacation, huge bonus, greatest) plan.  No you will get to know them very subtly, create strong relationships and in the end invite them to your business opportunity if you like them and also you believe that the business can bring value to their lives. Both of these conditions are key. Quick example, I recently prospected a gentle man in my city who is heir to a $50 million conglomerate. He is about 40 years old and is a savvy business man. Having this man in my business would have been really great for “me”. But what I failed to do was ascertain whether the business would bring value to his life. Because I failed to really find out if he needed the business my invitation to him as well as him watching a MLM business dvd had the effect of straining our relationship rather than strengthening it. It just seems that after my invitation to him, he doesn’t really have time to see me. So anyway I spoke to him yesterday and told him let’s put the business aside and get to know each other. I found out just recently after watching an interview he gave that his principles on how he wants to create wealth doesn’t align with a Network Marketing model so I don’t think I will be bringing this up gain. Anyway, the gist of the story is get infront of people with the objective of buiding key relationships and getting to know people better. Only make the invite if the two conditions above are met. Myself, I am engaged in passive networking at my gym, yoga, business functions at the Chamber of commerce or any other business groups. Basically, if there are some people you run into often e.g neighbours, start working on getting them to know you, like you and trust you because when the time is right all you want from them is a fair hearing.

3. ADVERTISING

No matter how small your budget is, allocate some portion of your funds to have ads campaign for opportunity seekers running in atleast your local market. I know what some of you are saying” mario, I can’t afford it”. Get a part time job or something, increase your hours, pawn your wife’s ring, do whatever you have to. I know some MLM experts may be saying this is not necessary, and you are right; it is mandatory to have a way to get prospects looking for you when you sleep. Look at any business you know, don’t they have some form of advertising campaign going on? How did you here about the pizza you voraciously down on the weekend? probably yellow pages, flyer or newspaper. So just cause you are in the ’ word of mouth business’ doesn’t mean that advertising is out of bounds. I always have this feeling, “what if there is someone out there who I am not reaching and may never reach me?”. Tim Sales came into MLM after reading an ad in the washington post if I am not mistaken. Legend Dan McCormick joined at a tender age of 18 I think after reading an Ad in a california newspaper. My facts may be a little off but what I know for sure is that they came into the industry through ads. These people have earned and continue to earn a residual income in the millions. Imagine if they were in your organization. I don’t need to beat this point further, you either get it or you don’t.

For those with a bigger budget I recommend you run your ads in key huge markets on a national scale.

4. LEADS

Of late we have heard a lot about how uneffective purchasing leads can be. This happens for two reasons; One, the leads are resold to tens if not hundreds of other network marketers who have called the prospect. Given that majority of mlm’ers are morons who only think about themselves when they call the prospect you can see why the leads don’t serve you well by the time you call them. Second, you may be a poor communicator which makes your task tenfold difficult. If this is the case my recommendation here is to really just come from authentic place of wanting to help. Let them know you are calling to find out if they are still looking and what they would like to change in their lives. Personally, I have really discovered that your tone and how you come across is a bigger determinant on how effective a lead turns out to be for you. You can still have a great conversation even if they don’t join.

It’s always great to have leads coming into your inbox that you can call. It keeps you in action mode, keeps your enthusiasm up and maintains your posture because you know that you always have someone to expose your opportunity to.

5. ONLINE CONTENT

What you give out comes back to you. This is a universal law that most people don’t quite understand. For example, I have been writing this blog since 6.30am this morning, it is now 10.30am. Is it wise use of my time? absolutely. One person will take the information here, build a mega business and promote me because I helped them.  They will buy my training manuals in the future or may align with my vision and join me as a partner in my team and the AND movement. I do the work of helping by providing pertinent content and leave the rest to God.

Caution, don’t focus on your online activity as your primary income source. Use it as a long term strategy to build relationships with your MLM community, create your tribe, bring value to them, have them follow you for being an inspiration and surely they will contribute to your business in one form or the other down the road. For the MLM morons please stop blatantly pitching your company online, spamming people and using all the stupid inhuman tactics you have learned from online “experts”. It’s creating a huge stigma on our industry which inadvertently affects your future ability to prospect because every one you will meet seems to want to distance themselves from such an unprofessional industry.

Online is a place to bring value and create a tribe. Value comes from contributing great content that can help people build there business today. Your tribe will support you, join your business or buy any training material you design in the future. Plus they will be your ambassadors sending your name to the corners of the world where you can’t get to without a solid reputation for being a problem solver of unimpeachable integrity.

6. COLD CALLING

This one is so important although everyone seeks to run away from it. You see ads everywhere proclaiming they have a system to ” build your business with out doing any cold calls” as if there is something wrong with that method. What are we so afraid of anyway, a ‘NO’. It’s ridiculous. I place this on the highest levels of personal growth even ahead of reading all the books. The only thing I find stronger than this activity in term of personal development is sitting in silence and reflecting, thinking and strategizing. Cold calling enables you to build character, mental and emotional strength, enhance your communication skills/ business knowledge of your company, product and opportunity and is a great source of hidden opportunities. If I could tell you about the powerful relationships I created while going door to door in the richest neighbourhoods you will be amazed. You will meet and talk to people that you would not otherwise have met. Word of warning though, going door to door is physically, mentally and emotionally draining so I personally prefer making the cold phone calls as it saves me time and I can go through a whole lot more people.

You have to be clear whether you are making a product or opportunity approach. If you are in nutrition and your product helps people have more energy, a great market to phone prospect would be real estate agents. They need to stay healthy and full of energy to go out and sell houses at all hours of the day. Call them and find out if they are in the market for new ways to stay on top of their game. If they are open to hearing what you have, arrange an appointment or send them some info that introduces them to your offering. If you are looking for business partners, maybe cold call all the yoga teachers in the locale and find out if they are looking for new ways to supplement their income during slow times. Professional speakers are a good market to hit for your opportunity as I understand that the professional speaking industry is facing strong challnges right now with companies holding on to every penny. Personally, I like to prospect Yogis because they are good teachers which is always great for duplication in your business. Join a yoga class anyway, its good for developing mental calm and peace. Plus the feeling of gracious motion from loose, flexible muscles will so much add to your confidence, great posture and general feeling of well being which will translate to you becoming a more attractive person. To attract people into your business you must be attractive. I like Professional Speakers because these people aspire to overcome personal challenges to attain inner excellence. The essence of Network Marketing is overcoming personal limitations, so I believe they have MLM DNA. Join a local Toastmasters public speaking group and you will meet these types of people. Besides, you need to learn to improve your ability to speak on your feet if you intend to inspire your team as well as make ’ knock em dead’ one one one or group presentations.

Also, have a cold call strategy for introducing your products/services on a mass scale to  companies for example if you are in nutrition calling your local insurance company and find out if they are looking for ways to increase the productivity of their insurance salesmen by showing them how they can stay healthy and full of energy so they can maintain their confidence which is a prerequisite for sales success in the insurance industry. If the company is open to your offering, you have created a situation where you can present your product to 10, 20 or 30 plus people who may never have heard from you had you not cold called.

The premise for this technique is that you are again a great communicator who comes from a genuine place of trying to solve a problem for a potential prospect.

7. REST

Aaaah the most important part of the equation. My genie is awakened when I abstain from anything in life that is a part of my routine. On this week I do nothing to do with bness or hitting the gym. The days just go by in revelry as I reflect, dream, plan and strategize my moves for the future. I do lots of Yin yoga, steam, sauna, hot tub, movies, sleeping. All my infinite power and wisdom come to me in my moments of solitude and silence. This is my number one persona development tool. Taking time daily to just be and have conversations with mario.  After working hard on yourself and your business for 6 weeks take one week off to reflect on your results and make new plans for the future.

There you have it, you have no reason to ever fail in network marketing. Join me on this challenge, have your downline join you on recommiting to your commitments on the business for a focussed massive action 6 weeks followed by one week of rest in which they implement all of the methods shared.
